It's the simple things that make us happy

7-11 is currently giving away Hello Kitty Career Plates if you collect enough stickers when you make your purchases there.

I didn't buy anything from 7-11 but I was given one by someone.

On first look, the first thing I asked was what in the world is a career plate?

I flipped over the package and ahhh...plastic plates that feature different careers.

Being a Human Resource practitioner, I started quipping--I know what a Career Plan is but a Career Plate?!

I opened mine and I got the sailor one. My colleague exclaimed that she likes it.

She opened hers and got the e-gamer one, and I told her I like it.

I asked her, shall we swap?

She quickly took hers and handed it to me.

Haha...really, the little things that make us happy.

iPhone apps by their colours

I have so many iPhone apps that I once sorted them by colours because that was the easiest way to find them. I soon had too many to fit them in and went back to categories.

But I am back to colours now, except for the first screen. And I'm very happy with it. Isn't pleasing to the eye?

Anyway, I read an article somewhere that you can tell a person by the apps they use. Can you tell?

Eternal Flames

For some reason, I began wondering if there were fires around the world that burns continuously.

Only then did I find out about eternal flames. Not the song by The Bangles, but real flames that keeps burning, naturally or deliberately.

What do they signify?

Off the top of my head, I would say that the eternal flames that are deliberately kept burning represent the continual burning of a cause, or a memory. It takes time, care and resources, and it represents the fact that we will never give up on the cause or memory that the fire is burning for.

Tiny Tower

My son introduced me to this game and now I am kind of hooked on it. It is something like Farmville though simpler and not as complicated, and not so much of a time waster, albeit still a potential. I wonder how many floors I'll build before I am done with it. I've built the 9th.

Are you a tea person?

I have not been blogging much and do allow me with a little of indulging here :)

I have always had a penchant for tea. I love browsing in tea shops when I go travelling and I'd end up with boxes and boxes of them in variety. That was many years ago.

Now I am back at it, with a little more insight to it, thanks to the Internet.

These are my favourites, at least for now:

Camomile
I know - it is not really considered as "tea" but a herbal infusion.
But still, it has a lovely flavour and it gives me a very soothing and calming effect.

Lady Earl Grey
I used to love Earl Grey Tea - tea with oil of begamot orange.
But Lady Earl Grey is wonderful, it is black tea with oil of bergamot, lemon peel and orange peel.

Genmai-Cha
And this is my all-time favourite - green tea with roasted rice. Smells heavenly!

Making tea is something I look forward to doing: boiling the water, picking the tea I feel like for the time, infusing the tea and enjoying the aroma of it ... hmm, lovely ... but sometimes, I won't know which to infuse.

I now have quite a collection of tea in my office: Peppermint Tea, Black Tea, Jasmine Tea, Green Tea, Chrysanthemum Pu-Erh Tea, Mango Black Tea, Earl Grey Tea, Prince of Wales Tea, Darjeeling Tea, English Breakfast Tea, High Mountain Oolong Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, Java Green Tea, Green Tea & Lemon, Green Tea & Apple, Green Tea & Orange.
