Genesis 3:6
When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
Matthew 26:26
While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
What do you think?

Wow. I wanted to get to this, but life has just been too, too full of late. So I expected to show up and find a whole sea of comments here. It was a truly great question.
ReplyDeleteFWIW, there is every most intimate connection, in my mind, but not with *that* tree. Jesus was the Tree of Life, and the Tree of Life was Jesus. Adam was supposed to eat of Christ there in the garden, and he failed. But now Jesus came, and physically *showed* us how to eat of Him. He shared the meal with our great, great, great, ... grandfathers in the faith, and we learned how to eat His flesh and drink His blood and taste the fruit of eternal life.
So I expected to show up and find a whole sea of comments here.
ReplyDelete:)
It was a truly great question.
Thank you.
My thoughts were more on the mention of "take" and "eat". Only Jesus' "take, eat" has redeemed mankind from the first "take and eat".
