Endurance

I posted a couple days ago about forgiveness. The preacher said this morning that forgiveness is not to be based on feelings. We must forgive even though we don't feel like it.

This also reminded me of the Chinese word for endurance, 忍 (ren):


The Chinese character is a combination of two words - the edge of a sword 刃 on top of the heart 心. That is a picture of the extent we need to endure, when the sword is perpetually stuck into your heart.

Forgive and endure - that is what I need to continue to learn to do.
