CS Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."
I would like to revisit CS Lewis on this quote. I don't think he meant it in the way I somehow see it as in I hope I will hear God well enough so He does not need to shout.

what a coincidence!
ReplyDeletei was just figuring how God speaks to His people & came to this conclusion:
if you're in tune with Him, He speaks softly, eg Samuel.
if you're disobedient when He speaks, He catches your attention in a way you don't expect, eg. Jonah,
but if you are really against Him but He still wants to use you, he'll disable you 1st, eg Paul.
i would prefer the whisper!!
Hi doc,
ReplyDeleteYes, we have come to the same conclusion and your observation is very interesting, and I can see there are many more examples to how God spoken to his people.
As we have agreed, we prefer the whisper, lest He decide to use a donkey!
