A fitting antidote

Amidst all the fiasco and frutrations I am going through at the moment, I was reminded of this passage that has become such an encouragement and fitting antidote to the resentment building within me.

Colossians 1:10-12
10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

And as my life motto goes: Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man (Eccl 12:13), I have to keep myself in check to be close to my Lord at all times, to keep away from the dark foreboding temptation to fall into sin. God help me.

p/s By the way, SH, Calvin and I will be away for the next three days in Frasers Hill for our church's planning retreat. Therefore, I might be quiet for awhile unless there is even some faint access to an internet connection.

  1. That scripture is certainly one I need to remind myself of on a daily basis as I nurse my husband from this heart bi-pass. I have felt VERY stretched and uncomfortable but God is able.

Maybe you can take some B&W of Calvin at the retreat. :)

  4. Have a good time in Fraser's. I really love that place - always go there for my silent/solitude retreat.
