We had an evening class today, where O’Brien lectured on “Justification and Union with Christ”. We spent 2 hours on the two themes in the time of the Reformation, the language difference between justification and participation in Christ and if we can have one without the other.
I am still lost and I do not know what today’s topic has to do with justification or even the New Perspective on Paul. Why compare justification with participation in Christ? Why not justification and salvation history? Or justification and eschatology?
