We woke up very early in the morning today to make way to the little hill opposite our church to attend the Easter Sunrise Service. It was a spectacular morning.
Rev Raymond Wong spoke to us from Romans 1:1-6 about the Blessings of the Resurrection.
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,
6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
1. Easter brings cofirmation of who Christ is
2. Easter gives cancellation of sin's penalty
3. Easter gives us a relationship with God
4. Easter gives us a celebration of life eternal
At the tomb, the angel said, He is not here: He is risen!

Wow, you were up early for the sunrise. And I thought our 9 am breakfast was early :) That is a nice summary of what Easter gives us. Have a good trip to Labuan!
ReplyDeleteYea ... service at 6.30am in the morning IS early :) good thing we live only minutes away. Actually our house in one of those you see behind the liturgist in the picture!
